Nadège Ludinant at work

After getting her fashion designer degree from the prestigious Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Nadège LUDINANT became in turns a manager, an adviser, a trendsetter, a fashion photographs stylist…

She turned toward creation in 2008.

The 20s and 30s, Japanese prints, the Renaissance, the Russia of the Czars…this is where her inspiration comes from.

Her purpose is to give a second life to the treasures of the French couture heritage.

Lace, fur, trimmings, embroidery, are the common threads to her unique pieces.

Her creations are timeless, entirely handmade and embroidered : an  hymn to feminity.

Her first collection named «Like a Czar» was first presented at the Parisian eventApocalypse in 2009.

Her special feature is to make reversible creations. She hunts out «treasures», recycles, transforms and customizes them into unique models in both daytime and evening versions.

Creation in every fashion (haute couture) !

Our ten Lovely questions:

 1. What were the upbeats of your career ?

August 1985… when I arrived in Paris at the age of 12 after spending my childhood on the French Riviera. It is at that time that I decided to become a fashion designer.

From September 1994 to June 1997…

And I never changed my mind until I entered l’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, one of the most prestigious fashion design school in France, I was really lucky to be warmly encouraged by my parents.

 January 1998

The opening of Emporio Armani Flag-ship in Paris, St Germain-des-Près.

My first job in the retailing business ; one of the most beautiful human adventure in my career, the one that gave me the taste for selling and merchandising and taught me how it all worked.

Febrary 2006

When I met a couple of enthusiastic businessman and woman who gave me the opportunity to find my way within their company, a multi-brand store of upmarket design accessories, in Paris .

The confidence they had put in me and our great complicity enabled me to become a manager, a visual-merchandiser and a purchaser within a few months.

Transparency, exchange, freedom and independence in this priviliged relationship with my bosses were our motto.

THE best adventure in my career as an employee.

As I could have expected, it has since been impossible for me to find such enjoyable relationship at work and above all… I found it impossible to go back to working in companies where the stress, the pursuit of results and productivity make your life hell.

In a delicate situation, you need to find appropriate answers… Switzerland was one of them.

 Since February 2011

Which has enabled me to devote my time to creation. My brand mark, when I am not at the store I work in now, Portobellomarket, in Lausanne : a real Aladdin’s cave where you can dig out stylish vintage treasures.
