EB, here are the initials of an artist who wants «not to be visible». She graduated from the Beaux Arts in Angers but doesn’t want to talk about herself not even about her career.
She stages white volumes, which symbolize our «angst» and ironically questions the choices we make in our lives. She criticizes and draws our attention to our society which she finds too assisted and programmed. How shall we find our own truth without being influenced ? How can we be ourselves without taking the consumer society we live in and its codes for granted.
«My success would be to remain anonymous, I would like my sculptures to awake consciousness and never to become speculations. This is what I am working at.» (EB)
She sculpts, fuses and models white rope, the material she favours, (maybe a symbol of the purity she seeks ).
The rope enables her to measure, to tie, to put limits ; it coils, it takes shape, it becomes a cocoon, it traps, it hangs…
Calm and determined, secretly rebellious, she will get her message across whatever may happen.
She creates a state of melancholy that she is striving to lessen.
See you soon!
Have a lovely month,
Mademoiselle Viviane-Lucie
